RTO in 2025

Why intentional working is the way forward

As businesses adapt to another wave of new office working policies, and the definition “flexible working” becomes all the more, well, flexible, we wanted to examine the latest views on the RTO debate.

What’s inside the report?

We asked 2,000 UK office workers and 500 bosses about their working policies and how in-person time is being optimised.

  • A third of business leaders are looking to offer bonuses to encourage people back into the office.
  • Six in 10 bosses are willing to renegotiate with employees on compensation for coming into the office more.
  • 76% of office workers feel working in person is better for employee collaboration, and half said it made them feel part of a team.

“It’s clear from our survey that people travel for other people. More than three quarters of UK office workers say their work suffers if they don’t know their colleagues, and feel that businesses that spend more time together in person are more likely to succeed. When we work, we move to connect – organisations need a trusted travel partner that helps teams to spend less time on the go and more time together doing what they do best.”

55%

of UK office workers said they would be happy to return to the office five days a week.

77%

of office workers think their work suffers when they do not know their colleagues.

64%

of leaders are measuring the impact of their office working policy on productivity.

“Regardless of where we choose to place our laptops, the conversation about being intentional with our work is increasingly important. What we get done, how we collaborate, and how much that aligns with our individual values is becoming a more common conversation. And that’s a good thing for companies, and a good thing for workers.”
