London, UK – Friday 15 August – This month, Gett is inviting families to explore the capital in style – and for a good cause – with Little London Tours – special £10 charity tours in iconic black cabs.
Tours can be booked from 25 – 28 August, offering families the chance to tick off London’s most famous sights; Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, The London Eye, and Buckingham Palace – all from the comfort of an air-conditioned black cab.
All proceeds from tour ticket sales support Joshua Hayday Helping Hand Trust and Whizz Kidz, charities dedicated to helping children with life-limiting conditions and young people with disabilities.
Every family that takes part will receive:
- A beautifully illustrated, interactive city map packed with games and challenges – from counting red buses and pigeons to spotting classic phone boxes
- A small toy for little adventurers
- Fascinating facts from your friendly cab driver along the way
If you missed out on a ticket – download and print out your own map and follow along with your own black taxi driver!
Tube Trouble
Gett hopes the initiative will also shine a light on accessibility for families navigating the city.
Only around one third of London Underground stations are step-free, leaving buggy-users facing stairs or long detours. In a recent round of Gett customer feedback, 30% of parents reported sustaining injuries from carrying prams up tube station steps, and over 56% said they’d avoided visiting parts of London due to the limitations of public transport.
Black cabs, by contrast, can accommodate prams and buggies without folding, meaning no car seats, no awkward lifts – and no sore backs.
Chris Lewis, Managing Director of Gett UK says: “Seeing the sights in London can be a core memory for kids and we want to open up that opportunity to more families this summer. With Little London Tours, we’re inviting families to rediscover the capital with fun, personal stories and family-friendly stops along the way. Black Taxi drivers are incredibly proud and knowledgeable about their city, and they’re ready for their knowledge to be tested by the most curious of passengers!”
